Silent Gamers Quake II Classic Cup #1 Rules

Rules and Regulation

I. General
I.I The Silent Gamers Quake II Classic Cup is a 1v1  duel tournament.
I.III Players must have irc and join #silentgamers on irc.gamesurge.net to co-ordinate match times at least 20 minutes before the beginning of the tournament. There will be a
I.IV Players must compete with the name listed when they initially signed up.

II. Tournament
II.I The tournament will be played with R1CH anti-cheat enabled clients (e.g. r1q2 or aprq2).
II.II The Silent Gamers Quake II Classic Cup is played in a Double Elimination bracket in  9;best of three' (Bo3) mode and finals and grand finals will be 'best of five' (b05). Each individual map will last 15 minutes.
II.III Map selection is made using the following standard method: The higher seeded player picks a map from the map list first, afterwards the other player picks one map. From the three remaining maps the higher seeded player tosses a map, then the other player tosses a map of his choice. The remaining map will be played as third map, if a decider is needed. ( note that highest seed is #1, and lowest seed is #32 )
II.IV The Match will start when both players are ready.
II.V If a match can not be played because of undisclosed reasons, a referee must be consulted! In-case a player is not online, a referee must be consulted as well. If a player does not show up within 10 minutes after the agreed time for the match, a forfeit win will be given to the player waiting. So show up on time to avoid a default loss!
II.VI After finishing a game, the loser is required to report his defeat to any .SG. Staffs. If the loser does not do so in an adequate time period, actions will be taken which may result in removal from the competition.

III. Servers

III.I The tournament will be played on North American servers specified by staff before the cup. A referee always has the last say in the search for a server. Both players have to agree on a fair server.
III.II If there is no way to come to an agreement, a referee must be consulted.


IV. Coverage
IV.I In general, observers are permitted unless one or both players or a referee forbids it.
IV.II Referees and IPTV-streamers are always allowed to observe any match. Kicking them will result in punishment immediately.

V. Cheats & Barring
V.I The use of cheats, maphacks or third-party-tools is strictly forbidden and will result in an immediate disqualification from currently running and future cups! Our servers will not allow the use of most custom sound or texture paks to prevent cheating.
V.II It is forbidden to listen to shoutcasts of your own games during the match.
V.III The tournament adminstration reserves itself the right to barr players from the tournament who are barred in other leagues due to cheating unfair behavior or other unacceptable behavior.

VI. Punishment
VI.I Inadequate behavior and delaying the tournament will be punished immediately!
VI.II Insults and unfair or disrespectful behavior towards referees and other tournament participants will not be tolerated and will be punished with immediate disqualification.

VIII. Demos & Screenshots
VIII.I A complete demo must be recorded of every match. If you fail to follow this rule please see  "VIII.III"
VIII.II A final score screenshot must be taken at the end of every match. If you fail to follow this rule please see  "VIII.III"
VIII.III For whatever reason, if you fail at completing steps VIII.I  and/or  VIII.II, you will penalized. Being penalized consists of a mandatory forfeit loss.
VIII.IIII At the end of every match you must send your DEMO & SCREENSHOT to an admin who will categorize your multimedia for future(if needed) review and interpretation. After the Silent Gamers Tournament the demos will be available to the Quake 2 community for entertainment purposes.

IX. Disconnects
IX.I In case of a disconnect within the first minute of the game, the match will be restarted, if there was no first-opponent-contact (score 0-0). The players have to involve a referee if the problem appears frequently.
IX.II If a player disconnects on purpose after 1 minute into the game, it is the choice of the opponent whether the game will be restarted or receive a default win. A referee must be informed in any case
IX.III If a player disconnects he will be given 3 minutes to connect and resume the match from the point he disconnected or to contact staff and ask for us to manually pause. If player does not reconnect or contact staff within 3 minutes the match will be forfeited.

X. Referees
X.I Players have to obey the instructions of the referees.
X.II Protests have to be reported only to the referees.
X.III Any breach of the rules might be punished with a default loss or a disqualification.
X.IV The Silent Gamers Quake II Classic Duel Cup#1 rules can be changed or expanded by the organizers at any point.
X.V The application of these rules & regulations is at the sole discretion by the responsible referees. Any decision made by tournament officials may supersede these rules & regulations to preserve the spirit of competition.

XI. Prize
XI.I The player finishing first in the cup will receive their prize either via email for digital goods or shipped to a Internationally Address following the tournament.
